Embroidery
Embroidery gives you a professional appearance. Multiple colors can be used without extra charges. Thread colors can be changed easily and there are no minimums. Once your design is set up, it stays on file here. Embroidery can go on most fabrics including "difficult" items such as Carhartt jackets, saddle pads and horse blankets. It washes extremely well since the threads are sewn in and become part of the fabric. Names are very easy to add.
Stock DesignsWe have a small selection of designs available here that you can choose from and many other designs that you can use for a reasonable set up cost ($30 - $50 or so) from our stock embroidery design suppliers. Stock designs cannot be transferred to our customers, however, due to copyright laws.
Custom DesignsThese need to be programmed for the embroidery process. We do have the "scan & sew" technology, but it only works for very simple designs. Most designs have to be “digitized” by hand using special software. Digitizing in embroidery is not the same as a digital format. (Embroidery formats are particular to embroidery machines.) Design set up starts at $35. This is a one time charge, and is based on complexity and stitch count. We can give you a rough idea of cost after we see your design. Custom designs are the property of the customer, and a copy can be emailed to you for $10 in a Tajima .dst format.
Art and DesignWe charge $50/hour for design & layout, typesetting, cleaning up artwork prior to digitizing, or anything else that we must do. Minimum charge is $30 after the first 1/2 hour which we include for free.
Embroidery PricesPrices will vary depending on the stitch count and complexity of your design and other factors such as fabric and placement, but generally are:
Names (L. Chest): $7.50 one name, 10 characters/spaces, additional lines by quote. Customer-supplied items are more, see below. Small Designs (up to around 4”): $9.50 - $15 Medium Designs (4” - 8”): $15 - $25 Large Designs: $25 & Up Large Lettering: $15 & Up Odd locations or difficult to hoop: We may add an extra charge if we have to fight with it in order to hoop it. Some things can be rather challenging. Horse Blankets, Sheets or Coolers: These start at a minimum charge of $25 due to size. Location of design affects the price along with stitch count. A medium shoulder design might be around $25 and large designs in the middle around $50 as they take more time to handle, measure, lay out, hoop, embroider and refold. Bottom left hem placement starts at $15 as it's an easy location and often the blankets don't have to be fully opened in order to work on them. Puffy stable blankets are too thick to embroider. Director's Chairs can only be embroidered if the backs can be fully removed. We cannot embroider items such as golf bags and items with open mesh. CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED ITEMS must be brought in new or very clean. We charge an additional fee to do embroidery on your items. Please check with us first as to whether or not your item can even be embroidered, and then bring in ONLY the parts that need decoration. Additional fee for customer-supplied items: 1-5 = add 75% to regular cost, minimum $10 ea. 6-24 = add 50% 25-49 = add 25% 50 or more = negotiable, depending on job DISCOUNTS: Discounts may be given depending on job.
